Praise repels the presence of the enemy.
Before we pray, we must prepare our heart and make sure that we have confessed all known sin and come before the Lord in gratitude and with thanksgiving. The Lord will guide us in prayer when we open our heart and trust in Him like He did with his people (Exodus 13:21). The Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way protecting them from the sun, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light. We must keep the Word of God in our mouth, in our eyes and ears, writing it on the tablets of our hearts, and in our journals. We are called and equipped by God through the Holy Spirit to spend time in earnest prayer for ourselves, our children, our families, and others.
We are were created to praise the Lord at all time. “I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.” Psalm 71:6 says, “From birth I have relied on You; You brought me forth from my mother’s womb. I will ever praise You.” Paul and Silas knew the secret of how to lift their hearts above their troubles and enter into God’s presence and power. Through praise and worship, their hearts were raised into the joyous presence and peace of God.
We do not praise because we feel good. We praise to break chains. We praise to receive deliverance and be free. We praise because praise is a weapon of warfare. Praise repels the presence of the enemy.
There is power in sincere praise that comes from the heart. There is blessing in the children of God who cry out to Him by faith. The one who lives in the shadow of the almighty, under His shadow we are under that roof receiving blessings also. The blessing of God’s protection and deliverance that took place in prison to free Paul and Silas, touched the jailer who walked in darkness. He witnessed the feats of Jehovah and he saw exactly what happened to Paul and Silas. The Lord freed him by breaking the chains of slavery. They lived under the shelter of God and He helped them with His arm of power.
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91: 1). The jailer received liberation and salvation through that great Celestial event.
Father God, in the name of Jesus I give you my praise. My God and my redeemer, I will sing to You all my life; I will sing praise to my God for as long as I live. Amen and Amen.
