This year is very important for many athletes all around the world; their eyes are focused on the Olympic Games in London. They have their eyes, mind, hearts concentrated on their hard training in order to obtain the prize.
They are concentrating in the race. As believers, we are concentrating on the Biggest Race, Jesus. He is our focus; He is our gold, and Biggest Prize. Keep running and be ready.
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 1 Corinthians 9:24-25
Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Yes, during the Race, we must face obstacles. But we have a Father that gives us strategies to overcome every obstacle and keeps us strong.
In order to win the race, we must position our eyes in Jesus and run with perseverance. During the race, let us get rid of everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14
Father God in the name of Jesus, help me lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares me, and let me run with endurance the race that is set before me.
Be blessed
