“This “letter” is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts” (2 Corinthians 3:1-3). “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize” (1 Corinthians 9:24). The apostle Paul wrote this letter for us with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. He used running a race as an illustration of the Christian way of life. He teaches us how to run the Christian race. This spiritual race is not a sprint race that we will run fast, but it is a resistance race that we will run with perseverance and with a pure heart.
Changing our hearts requires the new birth, and it is our hearts upon which God looks. We have to obey God in all tasks that He want us to do therefore, the goal of our service is obedience and not sacrifice. Sharing the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ will bring us victory in Him. He will use you to preach and to heal the broken hearted, to bring hope to those that have none. He will use you to heal the sick, to bring salvation, and to restore all people with His word. Probably you will say: Lord I do not know how to talk in public, I do not know how to minister in front of people, and probably no one will understand my language.
All these obstacles are the trap from the enemy to stop you from running the race of faith. Let me tell you something, if God gave you a gift you must use it and if God has a calling on your life, you must obey your calling no matter what obstacles the enemy put in your way. There is a protection for the children of God against all obstacles from the enemy: James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Probably you will say: How I will resist the enemy? To resist the devil, we must live a life of humility. The proud and arrogant are high profile, targets for the devil they are easily hit by the enemy. God gave us the key to resist the enemy in James 4:6-8 but he gives us more grace.
That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. We must stand [our] ground against the devil’s schemes. To resist the devil, we must put on the full armor of God. The armor of God is salvation, the gospel of peace, truth, righteousness, faith, the word of God and prayer. With His equipment, you will be prepared to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations. When Jesus began His ministries, He did not ordain the high personalities with high levels of education. He chooses ordinary men to be part of His ministry. The gospel is not dependent upon human eloquence or persuasion that may change minds, but cannot change hearts. Only the Spirit of God can reveal the Son of God to a man, and only the Son of God can reveal the Father. God will use ordinary men and women to share the gospel to all the earth. Are you ready? We are the ordinary men and women and God will take us from the ordinary to the extraordinary for His glory.
We are just an empty vessel that only God can fill. This year, God wants us to check our vessel and see what is inside. If our vessel is full of garbage, we must empty it. Do not intoxicated your vessel with the trash that the enemy put in your race, we must be self-controlled, sober, alert, we must draw near to God daily and throughout the day. This is the year of ripping the harvest that God has promised to all His children, this is the year to take back what the devil stole from you. We will rejoice in the Lord. I don’t know how your year went 2009 but let me tell you: joy comes in 2010 for your life and for the life of your families and your ministries in the name of Jesus. This is a new beginning in your life. The old you have passed away. God demands us to keep running this race with transparency, with a clear heart in order to qualify in the Finish Line.
In 2 Chronicles 20:25 the promise of God for his children in 2010 “and when Je-hoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them (enemies), they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.” The blessing and purpose that the Lord Jesus has for us is abundance for those that follow His will. I feel the presence of the Lord writing this letter to all my brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ. May heart’s desire is to encourage you with all the spiritual songs and worship in the name of Jesus. Don’t give up, continue the race and keep pushing until you finish your race, that heavenly race. Remember to run the Race with joy no matter how big the obstacles. Your Trainer (Jesus) will give you the techniques and strategies on how to overcome the obstacles. When you obtain the victory, give the glory and honor to Him.
This new beginning means a new level in Jesus, God wants to show you the other side, a new level of faith in Him. God says to you today “Let’s go to the other side.” Mark 4:35-40, it is up to you if you going to follow His command or despise it. I don’t know about you but I choose to go the other side with the Lord Jesus by faith no matter the rage of the storm. The Lord just demands us to put all our care in Him, He will fight for us, He will prepare us, He will grant us His favor, He will open the door for us, He will give us the key that will be able to open many doors, He will put His words in our mouth.
This year is the year of the proclamation of His word, the year of miracles; the year of Jesus. This year is the year of reach out to those that do not know the Lord; the year of salvation. This is the year of the Great Commission. This is the year where God will reveal to His people the mystery that we do not know. Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” This promise and revelation require a new level of faith in Him; this level is a process of discipline, holiness, righteousness and obedience. We must obey what the Lord wants us to do, and do it right away, without thinking in our flesh or in our comfort zone. Every day, is a new beginning for us to build the kingdom of God, we are responsible for using the talent that He gave us and use it in His will and for His will.
