Jesus, el Capitan de mi barcaAnother day the Lord Jesus “saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats …He got into one of the boats belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then He sat down and taught the people from the boat. When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because You Say So, I will let Down the Nets. When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break” (Luke 5:3-6) (NIV)

If you are sitting as Peter sat, your outlook is depressing. Adding you to this your lacking a flock, you attempted everything you can and you are contemplating giving up. This feeling occurs. You get to a point where you believe nothing will go as would like. You’ve experienced too many disappointments and you’re afraid to dream, reach, stretch, or broaden your horizons. Jesus knows how hard you’ve tried, and today He’s inviting you to try again this time with Him. Try again this time with Him even though you’ve wresting with depression. Try again this time with Him even though you’ve wresting with addiction, finance failure, sickness, unemployment, marriage problems or disunity in the family, the Lord of New Beginnings wants to come on board. If you let Him, He will show you what to do. If you’re willing to respond like Peter: Because You Say So, I Will. Today invite Jesus on board and watch how your situation changes.

I waited patiently for God to help me; then He listened and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out from the bog and the mire, and set my feet on a hard, firm path and steadied me as I walked along. HE HAS GIVEN ME A NEW SONG TO SING, OF PRAISES TO OUR GOD. Now many will hear of the glorious things He did for me, and stand in awe before the Lord, and put their trust in Him” (Psalms 40:1-3).

“Be strong! Be courageous! Do not be afraid of them! For the Lord your God will be with you. He will neither fail you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

But because You Say So, I will let Down the Nets.

I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me.” (PHP 4:13)
