The Free Ticket of Salvation
When we confess our sins, we humble ourselves and receive deliverance in our hearts and minds. Our hearts are free, our bodies are healed, and our minds are renewed. Our confessions change our destiny. Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” The mind is the gateway to our hearts. When the enemy tries to attack you by using your mind, you must cast down all his imaginations in the name of Jesus. When anxious thoughts arise, we should take that as a warning and deal with them in prayer before they take control over our hearts. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. A wellspring is a source of continual supply—often related to wells and water. We must guard our hearts from being polluted by sin as much as possible, as sin pollutes the living waters that are meant to flow from us. Jesus is our continual living water.
My brothers and sisters, your joy or sorrow for all eternity depends on your answer to this question: Are you saved? Do you have your salvation ticket yet? If you answer yes, keep running the race with love and a pure heart. Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life! The tree represents eternal life, eternal healing, and eternal joy! Thus, when you eat from this tree, whatever hurt you have suffered, whatever pain you have borne, is now healed in the name of Jesus. When you seek the Lord first in spirit and truth, He will heal those wounds and never allow them to reopen again!
Are you saved? If the Lord came today, are you ready to depart with Him? If your answer is no, there is good news for you. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). The Lord Jesus Christ told us in the scriptures that no one will see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come. And there is more: once you are born again, the Holy Bible says you have been transformed and made into a new creature. Every sin you have ever committed, no matter how grave, is now completely forgiven by God. He paid the price for your sins; Jesus bore the penalty for us. He wants you to know how much He loves you and cares for you. Do not wait until it is too late; the time is near!
We are saved by grace, by His blood. The blood of Jesus covers saved Christians so that when God looks at us on our judgment day, He will not see our sin but will instead see the blood of His Son. Therefore, now there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. God wants you to seek Him first; He wants to plant a seed of His word in your heart and make you fruitful. I remember when we were living in Huntersville, Alabama; my family and I desired to plant corn in our big backyard. We were not familiar with gardening, but we were very excited about it. Our daughter Desiree was two years old at the time, and we wanted to teach her how to plant corn seeds. We went to the store to buy corn seeds, shovels, gloves, and all the tools needed to prepare the soil.
Before we planted the little crop, we cleaned the ground, removed all the weeds, and watered the soil. We worked hard to soften the soil, which was very hard and dry, making it difficult to plant the seeds. But our perseverance to see the corn grow was in our hearts, even when the soil was challenging to work with. The same happens with us; some of us need a lot of work to prepare our hearts for the seed of the Word of God in our lives. You will find people who are very dry and hard to receive the seed of the Gospel of Jesus in their hearts. To grow spiritually, we need to weed the sin out of our lives. Sin can destroy a Christian just as weeds can destroy a plant. When we open our hearts to the Lord, He will remove all the weeds that are obstacles in our hearts. When our hearts are ready to receive, the Lord will plant the seed of His Word in us.
The Bible uses tares (weeds) to represent sinners. Matthew 13:24-30 states: “Jesus told them another parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ ‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ ‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time, I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.'”
God gave a demonstration to prove He loves you at Calvary; He died in your place to set you free. Christ died for the ungodly. He took your place, suffering the punishment you deserved. Jesus proved that He loves you more than He loves Himself. He wants to give you a last chance to receive Him. The Lord is a God of opportunities; He is giving you the chance to seek Him.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you,” (Matthew 6:33). When you seek God first, He will supply all your needs; He will never say He will give you only a few things; He says all things because He is your Provider. “No harm will befall you; no disaster will come near your tent. He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone” (Psalm 91). Running the race is not easy, but God will give you the strength to develop your spiritual muscles to reach the finish line. In other words, we are to fight and resist any obstacles of sin in the name of Jesus. “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight, for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives” (Isaiah 59:19). God sets Himself against the proud and haughty but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it). So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and He will come close to you” (James 4:6-8).
A humble heart keeps us close to Jesus. To be close to Him means that we must get rid of sin in our lives, as sin keeps us from running His race; it stops the heavenly rains of blessings. Therefore, whatever hinders us, whatever prevents us from running the race, must be thrown off. We must cast all the garbage into the blazing furnace. We must empty our vessels until they are pure and then fill them up with the presence of God in our lives. Finally, guard your heart; God wants your heart for Himself. He asks you to trust Him by faith. The enemy despises your heart because it is with your heart that you believe unto righteousness. “For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10).
As Christians, our faith will be put under pressure. We will be tested. There will be times when we experience intense spiritual conflict that may challenge our faith, but God says to you today: you have not suffered any testing beyond normal human experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tested beyond your capacity but will provide a way out along with the test so that you can bear up under it (1 Corinthians 10:13). And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior is the doorway to your destiny. Without Him guiding you, you won’t reach your final destination in heaven. But once you accept Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life and begin seeking Him daily, He will begin revealing the purpose He has for you. Dear brothers and sisters, let me say that Jesus is no respecter of persons. What He has done for me, He will also do for you if you give Him the opportunity. Won’t you open your heart and your life to Jesus now, and in so doing, give Him that opportunity? He is ready and waiting! He loves you so much! Jesus took on Himself every bit of your sin—your past, present, and future. Our sinless Savior suddenly and painfully felt the burden of guilt, the weight of a tarnished soul, and a wretched separation from His Father.
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, or if you have strayed from Him and want to get a fresh start and a new beginning, please pray this simple prayer with all your heart. You are encouraged to pray the following prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I know that I have broken Your laws, and my sins have separated me from You. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life and toward You. Please forgive me and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that Your Son, Jesus Christ, who died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, and is alive. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send Your Holy Spirit to help me obey You and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
If you said that prayer sincerely from your heart, we believe you have been born again. Welcome to the family of God! We encourage you to find a local church where you can be baptized and grow in the knowledge of God through His Word, the Bible.
